I was thinking about using Hagerty. Does anyone use like All State or anything? I remember years ago All State was very high, and my driving record is good. Just trying to see who has the most reasonable rate for the DMC....

Fairly active (though not recently) thread about this here:

USAA Collector's Car Insuarance. Agreed value of $35000 - wreck it and I get a check for that amount.
Complete and full coverage with $500 deductible.
Price? About $230 for the ENTIRE YEAR.
Military may not pay me as an E.E. what I'd make in the public sector, but man, the benefits are sure there.... (:

Insurance varies greatly from State-to-State. You can only compare what others are doing in your State. The best advice is to get multiple quotes form companies that specialize in collector car insurance such as Hagerty, Taylor, etc. Each has it's own "rules" as to mileage, age, appraisals, and such. Pick the one that suits your needs the best. Price is not the only factor.

I have Allstate. Hagerty didn't like my garage being door-less and Statefarm dropped me after a month stating the car was "too rare" to be covered. I have them on my other cars and my house so I know it wasn't anything to do with anything in my record. (no tickets, no accidents so far) If I remember right it's about 500 dollars a year, full coverage.

It would be a good idea to check your Allstate policy declaration page to make sure coverage for your D isn't listed as "Actual Cash Value". If it is and your car is totaled you'll only get their assessed value which is nothing compared to Agreed Value for specialty coverage. Hagerty wouldn't insure my kids until they were 26 and 24 because of minor moving violations so I switched.

I have regular car insurance through Safeco. I think I pay about $1,600 a year for two cars on he policy.
I have a Geo Metro on the policy with liability only. The other car is the Delorean with an agreed value of $20,000 (I need to get this bumped up), $1,000 deductible for collision, and $100 for comprehensive. I have glass coverage with no deductible.
Sure I could have gone the $200 a year route but I would have to keep it in a garage (which I don't have) and I wouldn't be able to drive it much other than to car shows.
My Delorean is not some fancy car that belongs in a museum. It belongs on the road. I got it a little over two years ago with 22,000 miles on the odometer. Even with a couple of broke angle drives since owning it, it now has over 45,000 on the odometer.
