this was mentioned on the old forum, there was a video of it as well when the Wormhole first opened. i have a friend who lives in chicago, and from his description it sounds right up my alley. im definitely going to stop there the next time im in the "Windy City."

If I remember correctly (and don't always), they got it through Dave at MW. I recall it was a storage auction find and had no engine. They decided to take out the interior and blackout the windows so it's basically a shell. Looks great in the window though!

And the bare shell was carried into the store on its side, then reassembled inside.

Myself and some local D owners drove our cars there one night. It's a cool place. If you go through the facebook photos, you'll see Robert Zemeckis stopped in there once.
They recently remodeled, and moved the car to a more prominent display:

And this is how they moved it...If anyone says our cars are heavy, show them this picture.

I liked the car sitting by the window better.

I took this as a sign that the business was so good they needed more seating space.

Haha, yes, that's a good way to look at it.

I like the fact that the driver's side lower door bolster from that car is in 1601. It adds a little bit of a connection between my car and another one out there; it also ensures that some parts of it will stay on the road.

That's nice. Don't get all soft on us.

I've been here a few times. Really fun place and very good hot chocolate. Didn't know they remodeled. I will be in the area tomorrow and will stop in to check out the latest layout. Pics to follow.

So Dave, you it looks like you did a body frame separation so you could tip it on its side to get it through the window. Is that correct?

What a shame it's stuck up right at the back of the shop. You could hardly see it. Might as well have a 1:1 digital print/banner hung up there.

What they should have done (expensive idea) is to suspend it from the ceiling, convert the undercarriage as the flying PT2 and use the flying lights as lights.

Yeah ......... going over the top here a bit.

Going to check it out next wednesday the 21st.
Tamir, if you're in the area then, I buy you a cup of coffee!
I did like it by the window better also, but I am a bigger Delorean fan than a coffee fan.

Actually I acquired it with no frame, and it still does not have one. There is no interior either.
