Am I correct in thinking that the only purpose of the lambda ECU is to influence the frequency valve?

i am confused, what do you do when you pull it out? What do you replace it with. I thought that was a necessary part.

Mike has converted his car to EFI (see EFI forum). As such, his Megasquirt unit is controlling all aspects of his fueling and by using a wide band O2 sensor in place of our stock one, he is able to eliminate the entire legacy system. This includes:

Lambda ECU
Idle ECU
Warm up regulator
Frequency valve
Cold start valve
Control pressure regulator
Fuel mixture unit
Stock fuel injectors (replaced with modern style)
Wiring to connect all of the above
Entire stock manifold (if going with smaller alternative)
