View Full Version : General rubber pedal pads coming off

I thought that I posted this before, but maybe it did not go through.

My rubber pedal pads for the brake and clutch keep coming off. I have big feet and probably do not apply pressure in the middle of the pedal, perhaps on the sides. Anyway, has anyone else had this problem? Will new pads be a better fit? What about using contact cement or something to help out?

Probably any cement would work. I would use RTV since it takes a long time to set and you let you position the pad properly.

I use black silicone, but like Dave said, any cement or epoxy would work.

I've got this problem too, but only on my clutch pedal. I agree that it's probably due to big feet pressing on the edges rather than the center of the pad (these pedals are so close together!). I've taken them all off and looked, and it seems like the clutch pedal pad's slipping is exacerbated by the fact that it's all torn up on one corner from being stomped. I think the right way to go is get new pads that will be nice and tight, then RTV them in place. That's my plan anyway.

Probably everyone has had this same problem ... not much room in the D's pedal box. I finally solved the problem with these.

Oh, those are nice. Did you have to drill the pedals to attach them? I can't remember if there are holes in them or not.

They've been on there for probably 20 years with no issues. I got them from Beverly Hills Motoring before they went out of business and I like 'em.:Headspin:
