I got a set of keys from DMHC, got them cut, and thats when I realized how worn down my keys (and probably tumbler pins) really are. They are a fairly common key style, has anyone had luck with re-pining the locks? I don't really want to re-key the whole car. I have yet to tear in to a door panel to pull one of the locks out, but I can't imagine they were designed poorly enough that they can't be re-pinned (read: Lucas didn't make the locks did they?). If anyone has done this, please let me know, I am curious of the results.

Do you still have the original all-black locks? Black outer ring, black inner ring when viewed from outside? If so, it's all but impossible to even remove them in the first place without breaking the retaining rings that are no longer available.

Im not 100% on it (I don't have the chance to look in the near future) but I think they are not the style you mentioned. It is a single key system, '81; does that help at all?

If it's single key then it would be the newer locks. Either way I'm not sure if they can be re-keyed internally, I just know (firsthand) that the original door locks don't come out without significant damage to their (unavailable) retaining rings.
