Me and my uncle are about to work on the transmission, so what is the best clutch kit to buy and from which vendor? Is one clutch more desirable than another? Sorry if this has been posted before, thanks for any help guys

Valeo clutch kit is the best I have been told.
Make sure to buy the double lip seal!

I have a centerforce clutch and love it. Had it for probably 10 years now.

My bud has that in his twin turbo Delorean. It's worked great for him as well! The Valeo clutch looks like a great entry level Delorean clutch kit.

The clutch for a Renault Alpine is great if you like a good grip

I'm happy with my Valeo clutch kit from DMCMW.

Good luck trying to get one. Hervy doesn't have them anymore and apparently neither does Centerforce. I called Centerforce in March because they list a single and duel friction clutch for a DeLorean in their catalog and after 3 days of the guy trying to get one or the parts to assemble one, he said it was just something they didn't carry anymore. I say Valeo is your best bet.

I put >40k miles on a Centerforce clutch. When I overhauled my driver car last year, I replaced the clutch just as a "while you're in there" thing and used an OEM Valeo kit... I cannot tell any difference at all, at least in terms of drivability. They both work great. And my car now has a LOT more low-end torque (and I frequently drive more spiritedly now too).
FWIW,

Thanks guys for the responses, I called every vendor and there all out of stock at the moment, so it might be a few weeks till I can get around to it now.

I wonder why ALL the vendors would be out of clutches. I would think it would be such a normal wear item that it would be constantly in stock. I hope valeo isn't trying to tell us something!
Is this a secret or what?
I believe you should post it on the open forum so others could share their experience with that particular clutch, that way the O.P. can make a better, more educated desition.

Not a bot, but definitely an asshole. Seems to have done the same in several other threads.
Banned. Thanks, Dave.
