So my brother and I are searching for a 2nd D now and I thought maybe a post on here might generate some leads. We are looking for any Delorean as long as it meets the following conditions:

Decent frame
Has an engine (doesn't have to run, just be there and not destroyed)
Decent panels (for the most part)

We are pretty flexible on just about everything. The car doesn't have to run, as long as fixing it to run doesn't involve a new engine. Some of the panels can even be dented, doesn't matter to us. Preferably we would like an auto that is somewhere around $16-$20k range but we are flexible. We just don't want to spend $25-30K on a car, rather spend less and do the work ourselves. We are located in PA, so if anyone has any decent leads on something please shoot them our way. Thanks!

Anyone else have any leads? We have been in touch with a few people but want to keep our options open and I know there have to be way more Ds for sale out there!

Not to sound like a jerk but have you tried ebay? $20,000 can get you a pretty nice DeLorean. If you spend that much and it doesn't run, something is majorly wrong.

Well ideally we are trying to pay under $20k, preferably in the $15-18K range. We also have no problem with a painted car, and in fact would probably prefer it as stripping our first car definitely gave us the confidence to do it again. I agree that $20k on ebay can buy a solid car, we just would rather buy one a little less solid for cheaper and do the work ourselves to make it into a 20-25k car.

You may have already seen this, but I though I would put it out there for you, just in case.

Interesting. I wonder where that is. It has to be pretty damn close to me.

I won't be in the market for a few months, but this looks like an amazing deal for anyone!

Just out of interest, I emailed the seller requesting pics of the usuals: Frame, Engine, Interior and the likes. We'll see what response I get. Anyone know of this car? Seems like too good of a deal, if you ask me. Especially since it has new Radiation hoses and seals. :giggle:

I wouldn't think of doing anything but! Who knows, this may be decent enough for me to warrant a road trip.

I saw this car in person last night, it's not a good deal for anyone. The frame has MAJOR rust issues on it, the passenger side door does not close, and it runs and idles extremely rough. Guy wants $13k firm, isn't going to budge on price, and with the rust issues it's definitely not worth it.

As for proof of the rust issues and photos...http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?4049-Help-need-opinions-kinda-quick!

Ah, I saw that thread. I figured there had to be an issue with it. LOL, I seem to be drawn to the rusted out frame cars. Last 4 I looked at were this way. The last one I saw was in REALLY bad shape and the guy wants $12K for it.

Yeah, owner has been keeping it outside the last 5 years, parked on the street...

Doesn't seems to be a good bargain, unless to change the whole frame but at what price...

I guess it was too good to be true as usual.

Hey guys we are still looking after all three of our leads have turned up three cars with awful frames. Really, we just want a D under $20k with a good frame, the rest we are very tolerant of. It doesn't have to run, can be painted (would love a painted one) but just has to have a good frame is all. Anyone else have some leads out there?

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who hit us up and helped us out. We just purchased a DeLorean last week and it should arrive here by the weekend! It is definitely a project D that we hope to have running by the fall! Thanks again to everyone for their help!
