Question about front shocks suspension

Months ago found a small "bottle cap full" of fluid under front drv side tire. Looked and a drop of fluid was on bottom of shock and some was covering the shock. These are the Easy riders with less than 1000 miles on em.

I was told to replace them. I ordered and just recieved some red KYB from a Delorean club/vendor. Just waiting for the urge to do it.

Just went out and sat on the corners of the hood and moved up and down. Both sides botom out with little effort with a "thump". I can see or hear no difference betreen either side. The front suspension has always been clunky and jarring on speedbumps,potholes ect.

Question- Does your front end bottom out so easily? My trunk is loaded with msc stuff but I am guessing the play is maybe 6 inches and easily bottoms out. Without any other Delorean to compare it to I just want some feedback on whats "normal".

Not normal. What springs do you have?

I have never been able to bottom out my shocks.
Neither the originals nor the new DMC Europe (no Spax) adjustable shocks.

Not bottoming out also applies to my daily driver.
I presume your shocks are overdue for a replacement.

BTW: Shocks can be overhauled if they are not too old or not damaged

Any time you see (unexpected) fluid coming from a hydraulic system, even a drop - something is wrong. I have John's lowering springs but still OEM Girlings at all 4 corners and the shocks never bottom out.

IIRC they are Easy riders with Eibach springs.

They only have approx 1000 miles on em if that. Springs were also put on new at the same time. But seeing the how the rear Easy riders collars collasped after they were installed having the front go bad so quickly does not surprise me. I was told just tighten the collars down more and try again but I decided to go with something else.
The rears were then replaced with KYB with the Eibach springs. At least now after I do this both front and rears will be KYB and Eibachs.
