Are you talking about that big panel that also houses the rear speakers?

On page 8/7/5 of the Parts Manual it is item number 42. The excess vinyl on the interior Trim Panel is glued to the fiberglass body. The glued portion goes from top to bottom all along the door seal. Simply pull on the door seal and check it out. The door seal is made to be removed and repositioned in case of excessive wear in some places.

Pictures available in the thread below.

Lamboman if you posted the last five digits of your VIN I could tell you the interior color of your DeLorean and whether you have an automatic or manual transmission, your place of birth, your mothers maiden name, how many children you will have in the future, where you will retire, how much money you have in the bank. Just kidding. But, I can tell you if you do what I did you will have no money in your checking account because you own a DeLorean like I do.

here is a picture to show what i am dealing with...I can make it look way way better by lightly pushing into the weather seal area (pic2).I dont really want to re upholster the whole panels right now although i will be re doing the small arm rest piece's.how can i deal with this or is the only option to re upholster?.Just looks like the excess fabric under the weather strip is what has failed.

Ah ha! This is why a picture is worth 1000 words.

What you have there is a CUT trim panel. Its a shortcut to remove it so your not fiddling with trying to un-glue the folded section under the weatherstrip and risk ripping the vinyl past the weatherstrip. Your only option to fix here is some strategically placed adhesive near the edge of that cut. Leave the door open and clamp the panel tight after applying. Let set up for several hours.
