View Full Version : Suspension Lower ball joints

I seem to be having a brain dump here. The question is when the lower ball joints are properly installed are they pressed as far in as possible were the safety clip is "floating above the lower control arm, or should the the safety clip be resting on the lower control arm? Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks

You want that joint pressed in as far as it will go. When the weight is on the car, that joint is being pulled on, so you want it all the way through. As long as the clip then goes on, you should be fine (regardless of the distance between it and the LCA).

What brand of lower ball joints are you planning to install? If you haven't read through this thread I would highly recommend it.

The guys over at DMC club UK have developed a much better option for the LBJ's than what is available from DMCH or Hervey. Josh at DPI should be able to sell you a set if he still has some in stock. Otherwise you can buy them direct from the UK club on their forum website.

We are still selling these at cost. DMCH is asking 90 per joint. We are 126.00 shipped in the US for both.

I'm not installing any for now. Mine are looking kind of shady, there are the second set from DMCH since December 2007. I'm thinking I'm gonna get DPI's stainless LCA's when they are available.
