My daughters 2000 Pontiac Grand AM had intermittent Illumination of Half the Instrument cluster. I removed it yesterday to investigate. Much to my surprise the Flexible Printed circuit is similar to that used on the Delorean. I discovered the issue rather quickly, there was a hairline crack in the illumination circuit trace. The ODD thing is that the Green film appeared to be stress or fracture free at the hairline crack in the trace.
I was able to easily fix it by exposing about an 1/8" of the copper trace on each side of the line and laid down a bead of Solder across it. FIXED. While in the process I discovered something in common with the Delorean. The Printed circuit is made by "PRESSAC" You will find that name on the Delorean OEM Fuse box. It also makes me wonder if PRESSAC made the Printed Circuit for our car. ( Don't have one to look at)

Pontiac cluster = AC Delco.
DeLorean cluster = AC Delco.

You got me on the fuse box though, I would suspect that's a Lucas part.

I was under the impression the fuse box was Dodge. Don't ask me where I heard that though.

Pressac appears to be a UK company specializing in custom electronics for the automotive (as well as other) industries

The original fuseboxes in the DeLorean were made by Pressac, and the original instrument cluster printed circuits were made by AC-Delco.
