My driver's side sun visor is broken. The inside is some kind of shaped foam piece. I was thinking of gluing a small metal plate to both pieces to form one solid piece. Then recovering with vinyl and cloth, perhaps glued on. Has anyone ever repaired their sun visor?

I have mine at the reupholster now.
Which leads me to my question. Does anyone know, (James Espey?) if the sun-visors were flat/straight originally from the factory?
And that over time due to heat they warp on the ends to the curvature of the headliner? Mine were a bit wavey. I told the upholster to straighten them now flat, but I told him I would get back to him, as I want them to match & fit correctly.
I attempted to cut a channel out in the foam to insert a metal rod to straighten them out. But after a lot of cursing later gave up and left it to the professionals.
Ive just never seen or handled a NOS Sun-Visor to know if whether or not they are flat originally.

I think OG they came flat, here's a pic of NOS Gray sunvisors:

3037's came wavy and I think it was because of the Calif's sun toasted the pair.
