So out of nowhere my drivers door lights stopped working - All of them at once.

I pulled each bulb and tested them with a 9-volt battery. All of them work fine.
I checked electrical at each socket by grounding to the body and pinning the each red and black wire seperately. Each read 12.9 volts with the exception of the black wire at the red lamp. It read 12.3 volts. OK a little random but could this cause all of the lights to stop functioning?

Any other ideas about what could be causing this?

For what it's worth, the passenger lights are fine.

Cheers.
Steve

Sounds like the door has been rewired...check this out:

The purple wires (probably your Red) should have 12v all of the time. The Purple with Blue stripe wires should be ground when the door is open (you can check them and the switch by hooking to the positive probe to the battery(+) and "pinning" them with the ground probe (you should read 12V).

Maybe I'm not following you. I checked each connection in the socket both red and black with the positive probe and the ground probe on the body and each read 12.9 volts with the exception of one black lead which read 12.3 volts. In my mind everything should be working correct?

I figured it out. You mentioned switch and I realized I didn't think to check that. Sure enough one of the wires was off

Thanks
