Wanted: Trash binnacle in really poor condition (Garbage quality is okay)

Does anyone have an old beat up binnacle they want to bring to DCS for a few bucks? I would like one I can use to do some experimenting with fiberglass and bondo. The goal is to use one to make some sort of mold that I can start producing binnacles from.

Wow, so thats what the steering wheel looks like underneath, haha.

That binnacle should be cake! Heck it's already been stripped and everything. Now just wrap it in your favorite leather or vinyl!

Hopefully Mike's isn't that bad. I plan to cut away material from the cracks, fill with bondo, sand it, and use the bondo binnacle to make some sort of fiberglass mold. Then I'll need to figure out some sort of resin that can survive the summer heat. There is plenty of information about doing this on YouTube.

If I can pull this off I plan to sell binnacles before DMCH and at a price about a hundred dollars cheaper than $350.

in all seriousness, im actually quite interested in your binnacle project. fiberglass & resin sounds like it will be quite resilient. keep us posted!
