First off I apologize if this is not the correct forum. I just finished installing the DMCH weatherstripping kit on my car, and for the most part it went well (I am not mechanically gifted, but have chosen to try learning) As I mentioned the kit went on easily, but I ran into problems when closing the doors after installing the inner seals. At first the doors would not close all the way, but after a few closings the passenger closes fine, the drivers side closes 80% of the time. Now I have noticed that the drivers weatherstripping is tearing where the top of the "B" post trim rubs against the weatherstrip. Has anyone experienced this? Obviously I can't adjust the strip, is it an indicator that my door is misaligned?

You should liberally apply some clear silicone grease to the weatherstripping on the surface that hits the door. This will allow the door to slide past rather than tear it over. After a week or so the seals will set to more the correct shape, so you won't need to grease them forever.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot. One nice point about the new weatherstrip, is my doors don't rattle as much !
