plug on driverside seatbelt

What is the plug for on the connector for the drivers side seatbelt? What is it used for? there are no lights saying buckle the seat belt, and i removed that annoying buzzer already. I know it isnt for an airbag :)
anyone have an idea?

That annoying buzzer also controlled the seat belt light on the dash!

That connector prevents the 'buzzing' when the belt is connected. If you don't have your belt connected, it buzzes at you.
