I flushed the clutch hydrolics system with transmission oil, what should i do?

A) bleed it a couple of times with Dot 4?
b) bleed it with a special procedure/product?
C) dismantle/change/clean whole system?

I would hope flushing with DOT 4 will work. My guess is it will but I don't know for sure.


If it's not been flushed in 30 years, you will want to install a new master and slave. Something magic about the new fluid will make old seals leak. When I did mine, it took about 2 weeks for the slave to start leaking.

Flush with DOT 4 thoroughly. Repeat in a week. Watch the system for any loss of fluid which will mean it is leaking. If it starts leaking you need to rebuild or replace the master and the slave cylinders.
