So here's an interresting one.

Drove the car to work this AM. All was well. Around 10:00 I went out to move her and whe wouldn't start. It would turn over but not stay running. Sounded like a fuel delivery problem. I did a visual check under the hood. After a little poking and prodding I found the driver side rear-most (closest to the bumper - sorry not sure which cylindar off the top of my head) injector had popped out of the cylindar and was just spraying fuel into the engine bay. I re-installed it but the clip felt a little lose.

Went to lunch a couple hours later and the engine was idling really rough. Further inspection later that day found the driver's side front (close to the fire wall) injector was also lose out of the cylindar but because of the restricted area around it was still half in. Hence the rough idle. I managed to pop it bcak down and all was fine.

Anyone ever encounter this before? The only thing that's changed on my car was a rehab of the primary pressure o-rings on the fuel distributor last week-end. Haven't driven much since then except the last two days.
What do ya think, gremilins?

Cheers,
Steve

About a year ago I had the same thing happen. The car started up really rough, but I thought it was just cold. Drove 1/2 mile and decided that something was up, and found the two injectors at the rear of the car (again can't remember what cylinders they are) had partially popped out, though not enough to spray the engine. I had been no-where near them in the previous weeks.

I pushed them back in, and all has been well ever since. Weird.

The consensus here was that I had some sort of back-fire that popped them out. But as it hasn't happened again, it is hard to troubleshoot.

A backfire would do that. Might be happening on start-up and you don't hear it. Also check that the clips are holding the injectors and the injector seals are not hard. You might consider bending the clips so they hold better and new injector seals. If it happens again you need to figure out why you are backfiring.
