I don't need one, but count me in to help kickstart the effort. I'll buy a pair.

I'm going to move this thread to the For Sale/Services section though.

It would be better if you just kept a list and let people chime in with their interest. That way you don't have any list conflicts and end up missing anyone.

I barely even look at this section, I am just coming here for my thread! lol

The thread has had 167 views, which is about par for new threads that are getting attention. Since I would assume that most regulars peruse the forum via the "New Posts" link, this thread is getting seen regardless of where it resides.

It may just be that interest is low.

Mine are good but if they save weight or I get your crankshaft pulley I will buy a set. My crankshaft pulley has a small wobble in it which is why I would consider the effort to change it.

These billet pulleys with the bearings installed and the S/S retaining clips are still lighter than the stock pulley with out anything in them!!!!

I gotta buy a digital scale to weigh these!!

Put me on the list for a set. One of mine has a casting flaw which I know is causing it to spin unbalanced which is hard on the bearing.

I have to agree with Dave M. Your start up quantity of 50 people or 100 pcs is a bit excessive. Is this your machine shops minimum order?

It is cheaper to order in bulk! And now, I am going to have someone Powder Coat these Clear! Getting those Coated in Bulk is cheaper!! Everything adds up!! For one set pulleys, 2 pulleys, 2 bearing, 4 retaining clips, Powder Coat

It makes it way easier when it is in bulks

If you're planning to place the order in the next month, I'm in. I need to replace one of the bearings anyway, "might as well" go for the upgrade. :)

Make sure you don't get powder coating in the bearing bore and snap ring grooves. Frankly, clear anodizing would be a better choice but The clear powder coat should be fine. It will be interesting to how fast it wears off the V groove.

I had a bunch of pulleys made, and dropped them all off at the powder coat guy to clear coat them!! It'll take a week or so! In mean time going out of town.

1batt4u
09-19-2012, 01:28 PM
So when I dropped off the pulleys the guy told me it will take about 2-3 weeks to get them done! First he said probably a week!

Well I just recently got them, after so long and they are messed up!!!! I am very dissappointed, upset, angry!

I gave him perfectly fresh, straight from the CNC machine, billet pulleys! All I asked was for clear coat on them!! They told me it took so long because they accidently had them powder coated black, they had to sandblast them. The clear coat came out sloppy! Some came out sort of a greyish look, other bad, others with black little spots ont hem, others seem as if they have been wire brushed all these scratches!

I brought the pulleys back to them! I told the guy that they are sloppy and about the ones with scratches, he said they didn't do it, that how I gave it to them! Yea right!

Lets see how long this will take!! I think I should put an order for another batch just incase!

I should of have these Clear Anodized!! Would have been much faster and easier!!

That is clearly the powder coaters mistake. That is really unacceptable, they should pay to have them remade. If they can't get a simple order correct, they have major issues. What's worse is they lied to you about it. Was this a reputable shop?

I would not give up on those pulleys just yet. You can probably chuck them up in a manual lathe. Then spin them at a fast rate while holding a scotch pad against the face. This will give them a spun brushed look. Then finish them with clear powder coat or clear anodize.

I was searching online for a local place, found these guys http://www.acemetalfinishingservices.com/ When I contacted them everything went quick smooth! After I dropped off the stuff it became hard to reach them! Their website writes they do more than just powder coat! I wanted to chrome out the back of the A/C compressor plate, since I bought a new A/C compressor that is chrome! The guy told me they dont do that even thought the website writes it! Weird!
