I have Hervey's stainless coolant bottle. When I go for a long drive and the engine really heats up, a small amount of coolant comes out of the overflow line. Is this normal/acceptable, or is it time for a new cap?
thanks

Or you are leaving the bottle too full.

It's either the cap or a defect in the bottle then.

Or it's more than just a little over 1/2 full. If you lose a little coolant and then it stops you should be OK. If you keep losing coolant then you have a problem. Replace the cap or have it tested.

If it keeps losing coolant with a good cap, watch out for a bad head gasket.

The coolant level is not really decreasing....I'm only losing a little from the overflow. I will monitor it and see if it levels off...maybe its a little full
Thanks for all the comments
