I have a problem with most of the rivnuts are pulled out or loose on my access panel for above the steering linkage. Is there any way to bolt his back down at all or do i need to source the nuts and special tool?.has anyone got other ways to secure it?.

Best way is a Marson rivnut tool. The inserts are m5 .80 and can be purchased from Mcmastercarr or us of course! The hardware is difficult to come by in a black finish through regular channels longer then 20mm. It pays to use long hardware as if you are using seals or sealant on the closing panels this adds thickness to the clamping area.

If the surrouding of the rivnut is still okay, you can use simple tools:
- m5 allen head bolt (approx 1 inch in lenght)
- a nut m5
- washer m5
- open ended (or better ring) spanner m8 (IIRC)
- allen key
- Put the nut on the bolt and screw it up to the end
- put the washer on the bolt
- screw the bolt in the rivnut as far as necessary to make it come out of the other end
- keep the bolt fixed with the Allen key
- using the spanner make the nut go towards the rivnut and tighten it (keep the rivnut from turning).
- when done, the rivnut again is tight to the fiberglass.
