So, yesterday driving home with the ac on and outside temp almost 100, the engine temp got higher than normal. I parked the car and noticed that the passenger side cooling fan was not coming on only the driver side was working. Tomorrow I'm getting under the car to see if any electricity is getting to the fan. Does anyone know if each fan has its own relay or diode? or is it one for both? The fans were purchased by the previous owner brand new from John and I installed them when I bought the car 3 yrs ago. So, I'm hoping the fan is ok. Does anyone know if the fans have any type of warranty through John.

Each fan has its own capacitor, AFAIK no diode in that circuit.

Usually a warranty is not passed on to a new owner.

I had a fan motor of which the bearing (a brass sleeve type) got stuck on the motor's axle.
The same fan therefore broke the lock pin of the propellor and due to that the clip on the fan was ripped off leaving the propellor useless against the radiator.
No damage to the radiator though.

You may have either no power at the fan or one of the other problems.
Check it out.

Do you still have the OEM blue fan fail unit installed or jumpers. It's the "relay" at the far left in your relay compartment.

Some of the jumpers have fuses so one may be blown out.

So I finally got it working. All it had was that the connection to fan was rusted and dirty. Clean them really good and everything is working like new now.
