View Full Version : Brake Opinions On Rear Tee

About to embark on reassembling and rebuilding my brake system and discovered this mess at the rear t-junction for the hardline.

That the epoxy is not damaged makes me think it looks worse than it is - a simple replacement of the tee piece and associated washer and bolt and a cleanup, or are the bolts on those hard lines damaged and I need to replace all three lines (I notice one of them has rust forming in its thread)? Thoughts?

This isn't related to the disaster with the master cylinder leaking all over and damaging my booster and frame - once I took it all apart I discovered the previous owner had fitted the new master cylinder (has the DMC identifier on it) but did not put the gasket/o-ring between the cylinder and booster.

I guess you're right: it looks worse than it is.
Does the T piece leak? No? Let it sit in peace.
Are the other ends (at the brake cylinders) easily removable?
Just do the cylinders and let the lines sit.

Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

I would just get a brass brush and clean it up. If it isn't leaking don't touch it.

Doesn't look that bad to me, probably just trapped trash. Compressed air and a light wire brushing (by hand) and don't touch it if it's not leaking.
