Hi everyone,

I am in the process of refinishing my lower engine cover. After painting it I am looking to put the edge clips on it that will retain the retaining strips that hold the grills in.

Getting the clips off were a pain, and I have new ones to install but have no idea as to how to do it. I figured I would just slip them on and then use pliers to have the little spikes grab into the fiberglass. The problem is that they are not even close to sliding onto the edges.

Is there any trick to installing these? I have never used them before.

Any help/info/tips would be great, thanks!

Just force them on. No trick. Do not be tempted to spread them further apart as that will reduce their ability to grab on. Get them started and then give them a sharp rap with a hammer. Perhaps better to do this with the cover off the car.

Well, that worked! lol, thanks for the help. I wasn't sure if you were supposed to just jam them on there or not.

Just push them on :)

Easier if the cover is removed from the car however

It was out of the car, and was really easy. Thanks again!
