I was wondering about these seat covers (Item number: 290740182407) They are sheepskin and I have seen them in many cars and for sale in the past. Are they really worth this much? Are they still being made? What do others think?

I believe they are definatly overpriced. Usually they go for about $300. Heck, you can have a new set made up for less. You might as well buy a leather seat recover kit from your favorite vendor.

Here are some photos of the sheep skin covers bought by my PO and provided with the car when I bought it. They were bought in 1988 (see invoice). There are no Delorean specific markings or anything to suggest they are original DeLorean. The seat surfaces are sheepskin, but the back is some kind of weave in a darker black. I've since recovered the seats with leather from DMCH (two tone). I personally like the leather recovered seats 100% better, although I could see the charm in a sheep skin seat in a cold climate... but in Houston?

Look in my profile and album. Got a pic of the covers and the box they came in with the name. Not so glossy looking in real life. I found these at Pepboys 2 years ago and suprised at how perfectly they fit and how well they are made. Thick, fit the seat snug, elastic band front and back to secure them and a front pouch betreen your knees. Especially for 50 bucks each IIRC. Its worth trying to search the box name or try and find them.

+1
I put a set of DMCH covers on mine and really like them.
I have seen Jim's covers and they look great...I doubt you could get close to look and quality close to the price!

Yes , my seat covers have been graced by the buttocks of the "super moderator". lol........
Yo Ron been awhile.....Ive been away for sometime. I had a few thousand post before the site relocation. I would say 99% of them were expletive riddled ,unintelligible pleas for help, "whats this wire", is this smell normal" ect..
I want some kind of title! Ive been called a "tool" but member just seems so generic. I am usually just known as the "bacon frying dude" by the few Ive met.

lol..Hey Jim!..."Super Moderator" is a vBulletin default name... you can change yours in settings (User Title).
...despite you being a pilot, since you love them so much, I suggest "The Ground Man".

Yeah it does seem that just about every known problem with the Delorean can be solved by "Have you cleaned your grounds?"
