if some of the rear louver struts are slightly longer or something??? I dont remember where i got mine from but when i close the upper louver it pushes out slightly and makes the gap wider between the roof panel and the louver.. mainly on the passenger side though...any thoughts on this?? if i take the struts back off it does not do this at all..

Sounds to me like several of the four nuts are loose that hold the Louvre onto the Hinge. Please see page 8/4/3 of the Parts Manual. Are you sure the nuts are not loose?
I use two Gas Charged Struts that are 18 1/8" (46 cm) from center of ball joint to center of ball joint. I need exactly that length due to I have installed the A1000021 Sun Shade Support Brace. The Engine Cover hooks onto the Sun Shade Support Brace only when the Louvres are high enough.
Sun Shade Support Brace available from all DeLorean Motor Company affiliated centers.

Not all rear louvre struts are the same length. For instance, if you use DMCCA's louvre support with the "DMC" that you can hook the engine cover too, you HAVE to have the longer ones in order for it to work. I had to have Danny bring me special struts to DCS so that I could use the support bracket I brought.
