I wonder if the Dodge folks didn't take a styling retro clue for the Challenger's rear from the Delorean.

I masked off the inset of the rear bumper on the D this weekend and it looks very close (if strangely a little less square) to the Challenger's back end

I'm going to go off on a limb here and say that that the Dodge folks took their styling retro clue for the Challenger's rear from... get this.. the Challenger.

Seriously.

Sure, just focus on the rim around the tail lights, the way the tail lights fill the inside of the rim. Everything else I agree is a miss, and I still love the D back end more

Now, you are making things up. There is no proof of this "theory" of yours. :smashfreak:

I think the point is more that the whole looking for similarities where there are none is kind of tired.

I mean hell, there are two doors. Clearly that's inspired from the DeLorean too.

Okay, you got me at the two doors thing.

Dont want to fan the flames here (yeah I do ;) ) but No. They're nothing at all alike. You'd have better luck convincing me that an '84 Camaro took its tail light styling ques from a DeLorean.

Let me know if you find any cocaine in the doors.

I swear if the bumper didn't say DeLorean I couldn't tell them apart.

Even more similar to the IROC camaros with the grid tail lights. Here's are a few pics of my D parked next to my dad's IROC

If that IROC had the rear louvers they would really look close.
