Hello all
New member John from NE ohio here and my Grandfather was a DeLorean collector. He owned 3 1/2 of these beauties and holy stuff they had me chomping at the bit to get my drivers license as a kid...one had under 5K orig miles on odo!!!
Unfortunately he passed and the cars were all sold:frown: to someone out of the family...:angry0:
Good news is that I came across a bunch of parts that were stashed in my mothers garage!
Can anyone educate me on what they are and value in present condition? As soon as I hit 20 quality posts they will be available in the For Sale section along with a complete steering column, a pair of seats and rear louvers/headace rack?.

Thanks for any help you guys/gals can throw my way

John,
Just out of curiosity, were any of the cars painted? How long ago were they sold?

Where in NE Oh? I'm in Willowick. I wouldn't mind seeing the parts you have as I'm always lookin for stuff.
You got your prices. If you go the ebay route, post a link here so members of this forum have a chance to buy.

Thanks for ther help. Those schematics are just what I need...and have already been a useful tool.
How is the ebay market on DeLorean parts?
Craigslist any better?

Keep them here in the community. eBay is stupid - I call them ePay now when it comes to what they charge to list things and most DeLorean parts on there are cross-referenced and inaccurate.

A: anyone who buys them is most likely "in the community". It doesn't matter if they bought them here in the site or eBay or Craigslist, it goes to a Delorean guy.
B: a lot of people on DMCTalk want everything at a steal. They somehow feel like they are too good to pay market value. I recently put my left fender up for sale here and was immediately chastised for asking too much and I "would never sell it". So much for going to the "community". I sold it last week on eBay for much more than I was asking here, even after epay fees.

If it's offered here at DMCTalk, yeah I agree. That's just part of the deal. Just out of curiosity sake, what did you ask for a LFF. Vendors don't seem to have trouble selling their stuff for the prices they desire :). And people that know what they're doing prolly get the price they want. I'd love to see if Bitsync would chime in on the accuracy of my theory. Course, I could be totally off.
Your comments go for ANY community. Jump in the pinball world sometime; it is INSANE what people try. I listed a machine at $1800 - pretty much working 100%. I was told privately "That machine isn't worth anything over $1400." I was like "In that case, I'll keep it than."
Totally ridiculous.

Came across a few more parts...

Hot damn, you're only a couple towns west of me! I'm over in Brecksville, a quick drive away.
Not to turn this into a For Sale posting, but do you still have that jack section cover? If so, what price are you looking to get for it? 559 doesn't have one, and I only realized it when I read this thread. I don't want the jack bouncing around now that I think about it.
