When oilfilters are discussed here it's usually about Purflux or other brands.
There are many makes of oilfilters available on both sides of the big pond.
However not all oilfilters are equal in quality, durability, capability of holding dirt, and flow.

I have used both Purflux (a bit too small in size) and FRAM (the one they make for VAG, type PH7328 ).
My other car - Pontiac - used AC Delco and after that also FRAM.
Lately it turned out that the FRAM filter I used for the Pontiac seems to contribute to lower oil pressure and dropping dirt into the oilsump.

Therefore I started looking for other brands with a better quality for my Pontiac and in the process, also for the DeLorean.
Mobil1 has oilfilters for both cars, but these filters are only sold in the Americas.
AC has (of course) an oilfilter for the Pontiac as it is supplier to GM, but there also seems to be an oilfilter for the DeLorean, not sure which model though.
I found that K&N also has oilfilters that can be purchased for both cars and - important - at both sides of the big pond.

My questions to you all are:

which brand and type of oilfilter do you use now
what is the average price you pay for this oilfilter (in local currency, please provide currency name eg USD, GBP, Euro)
how long do you keep it between oilchanges (in miles)
how clean is the oil when changing (like new/light-brown/dark-brown)
how satisfied are you with this oilfilter (its function, price vs function)

I highly appreciate your input in this quest for alternatives.

For my Jeep and Mazda, I use Napa Gold filters, which are Wix filters.
They average around $7 USD.
I drive them around 5,000 miles between changes, and run full synthetic in both motors.
The oil is dark brown in both vehicles.
I am very satisfied with both filters, but more so with the Jeep's.

For the DeLorean, I just use the filters that are available through DMCH.

I wouldn't use a Fram filter on my lawnmower. Much less any car I worried about.

I use the German made Bosch filters John sells. They are the best bang for the buck in my opinion, $29.95 for a set of six.
