Be safe, bud! I'm sure everything will be fine and the D will come out unscathed!

I thought the answer was "put a carb on it"

Drive it to Atlanta!

Seriously though, I would take the louvers off and bring them indoors as they are the one thing likely to be caught by the wind. Beyond that there is not much you can do, I wouldn't think

I have Red parked between my house and my other cars. I didn't think about the louvers. I need to make sure they are either secure or take them off.

16510 is currently without a fuel system. Someone is borrowing it's carburetor and low pressure fuel pump.

What? You don't keep the car in the house?

I would put a tightly fitted cover on it so debris has less possibility of causing damage.

You have to worry about flying debris. I would cover the car with truck blankets and then plywood and then a tightly tied tarp. You also have to worry about flooding. If it gets really bad having the other cars close to the Delorean may not be a good idea if they float and bounce against it. You might want to talk to your agent and see what kind of coverage you have. Maybe increase the value? Is there anyplace you can rent an indoor spot temporarily?

It's a temporary ban apparently. But let's not derail this thread with talk of Steve and/or Bill.

Well now of course (just like wanting Chick-fil-a on a Sunday) I want to know how Steve's car fared. I guess we will find out next Tuesday. How it's still in one piece.

David TeitelbaumCollateral damage with the other cars is something I would be highly concerned about. The way those cars are parked now, it doesn't take much movement for one of them to ram the DeLorean, and that's an insurance claim you may not see anything out of.

In regards to increasing the coverage, I very much doubt his insurance will allow that. Many insurance companies (ourselves included) forbid changes on a policy (and even prevent new policies) in certain areas when hurricanes are a serious threat. It's very, very common for hurricanes to get customers to raise their coverage or buy an insurance policy, at which point they lower their coverage or cancel their policy (respectively) once it's passed. And the problem is due to the nature of hurricanes, allowing this behavior means a massive financial loss for the insurance company, as opposed to a large (but manageable) financial loss by preventing that kind of "just-in-case" shenanigans. It happens every year, and to offset everything, rates must be raised across the board, which is something that we always try to avoid at all costs.

Bentley in Metairie, LA, which iirc is where Steve is from. Or is it Farrar.

(guess it now is the only Bentley with flood-lights :histerical1:)

Jesh Dermot, that car will be "swimming" with issues.
I actually thought of Steve when I saw the flooding. All that water down an open intake.....
