It seems these cars make a new noise every day...

I was sitting in it just now and I can hear a fairly constant drip sound coming from under the dash on the passenger side. Sounds like something dripping onto a flat surface.
I stuck my hand in around there but can't feel anything. It is raining, but as far as I know there are no leaks in that area, we went around sealing everything shown in the factory service bulletin.

Are there any other fluids in that area that could be leaking?

I can't investigate it for a while as I'm at work, but I thought someone might know something in the meantime off the top of their heads!

It could be fluid dripping inside the HVAC unit.
If so you have a choice of fluids (coolant, rainwater).
Check if the HVAC's drain pipe is dumping fluid underneath your car.
That will give a clue on what it is.

Was the car running at the time?

Hmm... funny you mention the HVAC... something down there makes a really loud POP sound, kinda like the lid popping off a paint can.
First time I heard it, I was driving, and I thought someone hit the car with something, it was so loud. But I'm pretty sure it's coming from under the dash too.

The aircon works pretty much perfectly but it doesn't blow chilled air, so it probably needs recharged.

Nope, it had been sitting a couple of hours, after a 15 minute drive to work.
When I put the key in the ignition to listen to the radio during my tea break the blower motor came on; I forgot to turn it off after defogging the windscreen in the morning. That's when I noticed the drip sound.

If your hood bumper is screwed in to far, it will hit the door inside the HVAC unit. I had to cut that bumper bolt on my car shorter.

That's the mushroom shaped ones you mean? Funnily enough I replaced those last month with new stainless ones, if memory serves they're shorter than the old ones, and I was left with not much thread to go down into the hole... but I'll double check when I get home!

The pop sound's been happening from when I got the car last year though, even before I replaced the bumpers.

You can just back it out a little and see if that pop stops. I found this problem when I pulled the blower unit and could see it hitting.
