I'm in the final stages of an engine re-build...
I went in to replace the water pump and the clutch slave. Now that it's back together the car will not go into nuetral.
It's currently up on jack stands... When I start it I usually engage the clutch (I know you don't have to but its habit). IN this case, with the car in nuetral if I take my foor off the clutch the wheels start turning.
Is it possible that not fully bleeding the clutch might cause that? I thought I got all the air out.
Help?
Cheers

SteveMorning Steve,
I won't be able to help you much but I think the wheels will turn in neutral if it's on jackstands. Put her on the ground and see what you have.
FWIW - I always start the D with the trans in neutral and the clutch out. For some reason I think the starter has an easier job ...:umm:

I haven't had reason to start my car whilst up on stands, but I have done so a few times with the other car up here. The wheels do turn a bit in neutral. No worries.
