Yet another non-starting thread, but I don't think I've seen this problem.

Cold starts and hot starts work great, it's just the ones in between after the car has been sitting for a couple hours, it sounds like the car starts for a second then peters out. Right after that, it starts fine. Here's what I mean:

(The noise in the background is a generator from some construction folks near by).

Could it be a fuel pressure issue?

Mmmm Mmmm. Gotta love that OEM 140mph speedometer.

About the "warm" start, this sputter would be due to a slight loss of fuel pressure, but the engine has not cooled down enough yet to reactivate the cold start valve. Try manually repressurizing the system before starting it next time, and it'll likely start the first time. In that case I'll almost bet money that if you get Dave M's Digital RPM relay with its re-priming function during cool down, this problem will go away.

No such thing.

That's what I was thinking was happening. I was thinking the key in the on-position also pressurized the system, I guess that's not the case? I've been wanting to buy some of Dave's upgrades, but I'm curious what the root of the problem is, I'm guessing a seal or an O-ring?

No such thing.

This is actually one of only two existing factory-original 140mph speedos, according to Stephen Wynne.

As Kevin said, yes there is. This is one of them. This is Micheal Babb's old car.

Only kinda, depends on the electrical pulse generated by turning the car on. Repeatedly turning it on and off can usually trigger the RPM relay to pressurize the system if it doesn't do it on a single key turn.

Oh snap. News to me.
