Desperate to find a garage that you can recommend close to the San Fernando area. While driving down the 5 freeway i hit a bump and heard a loud crack. My steering wheel started shaking. Looking at the car it looks okay but the drivers side tire is now angled in towards the car. I think either a bolt broke that holds the tire straight. I dont think the U bracket could have broken. That is a big chunk of metal. Hoping it is a small fix. the car luckily was able to make it home.
Any ideas what the issue might be and does anyone recommend a place that does general mechanic work.

Got ya covered... Maybe 2 miles from you buddy.
I have gotten good alignment work at San Fernando wheel and tire on San Fernando Blvd. Between Hubbard and Macclay on the west side of the street. Sounds like you should call first and then have the car taken over on a flatbed (call AAA) They can definately fix whatever is wrong, but will not have Delorean specific parts. Do not try to drive it with something busted in the suspension unless you want to break something else.
If you need parts fast you can certainly get stuff same day from Danny in Garden grove, but you might see if the new guys in Chatsworth have what you need in inventory... Search for a recent thread with the word Chatsworth in it and you will find them - even though they are just barely getting started with their new business.

that is great, I am on glenoaks and filmore right off the 118 that is right down the street from me. Have they worked on your Delorean before?
Some places get intimidated by that car.

They have done alignments, steering rack replacement, and front spring replacements for me on my D... Very reasonable prices. I always deal with the same guy - Eduardo maybe? Hispanic, mid 40's, mustache. He's the alignment and suspension guy.
