Not yet but I have a good idea of my requirements:
$25,000 or above (looking for a really good condition daily driver car that doesn't need much, if anything done).
Automatic transmission
Gas flap hood

Automatic with gas flap. Tough choice. It seems only black interior is possible in this combination.

Hey, before you spend all that money on your car, why not buy a little house and move out?
Just kidding, I just saw Accipiter post bellow! :)
I would recommend to start looking on the $20,000.00 range, a high price tag would not guarantee you are buying the best of the best.
Chris Burns is posting every car for sale he find, I know he is traying to help but the only thing he acomplish is more people to bid for those cars and the price would go higher.
Contact Chris and ask him to find a car on your price range and contact you before he post it for everyone else.
Deloumis found a very good car, at a very good price no too long ago just because he saw it before he did.
Good luck!
LEVY
Note: This could be a good candidate, just replace both seats (some one here have two very nice seats for sale $700.00), replace the hood (again, someone here is selling the one you need), so far around $3200.00, if you negociate the car price a little, then you have a good amount of money left to make this s good reliable car.

Mayhaps move out on your own BEFORE buying a DeLorean? You live with your parents, or in at least close enough proximity that they're sharing space with you. Fix that first.

Congrats!! :)
Don't want to be negative, but be prepared that there may be little things that may still require some attention. So don't spend all of your dough!
Congratulations! I know it's not quite official yet, but in the short time I've known you, I know you'll make it work whatever the outcome. The right D is out there for you, and she's within reach!
Automatic with gas flap. Tough choice. It seems only black interior is possible in this combination.VINs 500 to 3200 had gas flap hoods, but gray interiors started at VIN 2973. So there are automatic gas flap D's with gray interiors in the VIN range 2973 to 3200. Looking at the VIN Chronology thread, these are VIN's 3005, 3006, 3012, 3034 through 3110, 3150, and 3196. There's 40 in that range that are unknown transmissions though (i.e. may be auto, may be stick), but there's at least 83 verified to have that combination. 123 if all 40 are in fact automatics. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself.
(This, of course, isn't counting any that were converted to have gray interiors after they left the factory, of which there may be some.)

Automatics with a gas flap are going to be rare, especially if you also want it to be in good condition. You might want to consider any good automatic and if you really have to have a gas flap hood it is possible to cut one in on a flat or grooved hood. At any particular time you only have what is for sale to pick from. Find out how long your approval is good for and don't jump at the first car you see. Remember to set aside money for:
Insurance
Titling and registration fees
Sales tax
Depending on where the car is, transportation fees
Some of the inevitable repairs, parts, filters, etc.
You should be able to find what you are looking for in the $20K range. You should contact several insurance companies now and get some quotes so when you do find a car you are ready to go once you know the vin #. Money spent on a PPI (Pre-Purchase-Inspection) is money well spent. Find out how the money is actually drawn on. You might need some for a deposit and the balance on taking possession. If it is a personal Line of Credit you may be able to write checks on it. Find out now so when you do find the car of your dreams you can move quickly.

Is the point to have a car that started with a gas flap hood? I bought based on the unchangeable things and then figured on making it the way I want. Don has a gas flap hood that you could buy.

Back in the 90's I had two loans for both my D's. One was through a private local bank the second was from JJ Best. Both were traditional car loans. I have to say of all the car loans I've ever have JJ Best was one of the best banks to deal with. Great rates and no hidden fees. But that was 12 years ago. No idea what their like now.
Good Luck getting your D!

I saved up my money and paid cash for my D because I was always taught to pay cash for toys and don't take out unnecessary debt. I have no experience w/ classic car loans. Has the OP stated if this is going to be his daily driver? I might have missed that. If so, then a car loan for a daily driver to work is justified IMO.

Gas flap hoodJust so you know, your name was brought up in another thread -- there's a DeLorean on eBay that meets these requirements! Thread is here (http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?5293-My-Twin-is-For-Sale-Again), eBay page is here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DeLorean-/110956792635?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item19d58a4b3b&ssPageName=RSS:B:SHOP:US:101). Starting bid is $20,000, but the reserve has not been met. It's an automatic, gas flap, black (dark gray?) interior, silver wheels, stainless steel coolant bottle, currently 15,213.4 miles, beautiful and flawless body! VIN 2744, currently at DMC Florida (a.k.a. Gulf Coast Motorworks). It's right up your alley!

Gas flap hood original from factory are more appealing than one that was "downgraded" to gas flap.

In this case, is that not a good thing? I want Ron to get top dollar for his car.
Except he's not really advertizing it. Just testing the water.
Unlike James, who has jumped right in :paranoid:
I'm confused.

No biggie. It was just a reference to the film Step Brothers - as the car you discussed looked like a perfect fit... kinda like Brennen's (Will Ferrell's character) singing.

If you set it up as an analogy it would look like:
The DeLorean (2744) is to the OP what Brennan's voice was to Prestige Worldwide in the film Step Brothers circa 2008.
But if you're not a fan of that movie or haven't seen it, it wouldn't make sense. I assume too much at times. Apologies for confusion.
