I went to this forum a coulple of weeks ago for advice on the best way to attack the replacement of the slave cylinder.I wound up using a little bit from everybody. In case someone new to this forum is facing the same task, here is what I learned. As far as the line and getting it off the slave cylinder,I found it impossible to get 2 wrenches and my large hands in the space to keep the line from twisting.(wrenches must turn in opposite directions)It was rediculously easy instead to got to the juntion of the line mounted in the transmission tunnel and once the slave cylinder was free to just snake the whole thing out. From top or bottom. In order to keep the whole process from being "blind",I attacked from the top.I released all of the hoses going to and leaving the heater valve, the valve itself and had good vision and access. It is still a job to get the old one out after taking off the nuts, but being able to get a good grip on the cylinder and the angle required to clear it was very doable with no hoses in the way. After installation, which I think can only be done with the bleed screw off entirely(think of it like trying to depress the piston in a disc brake installation)I re-engineered the entire heater valve hoses in case I have to do it again or for that matter, get to the distributor.Be patient is all I can say and as one person mentioned, maybe walk away for a bit and come back.Thanks,Steve.6864.
