Newby here. Trying to get my D to run. The car has never run on its own since I have had it. Replaced the fuel distributor, fuel filter, and accumulator because they were all leaking horribly. It will not start unless the mixture control plate is held open. It will not idle unless the mixture control plate is held open ever so slightly. I can get it to run if the mixture control unit plate is pushed open, the more gas the more I have open the plate. As long as I have the plate pushed open the appropriate amount the engine runs fine. What controls the opening and closing of the mixture control plate? Thanks for the help, Greg

Since you say you have replaced the fuel distributor you need to be sure the pipe that goes in underneath for the idle motor is not leaking. After that you probably have to adjust the mixture to be close. There is a rough procedure where you run the fuel pump, pull an injector and turn the mixture screw till it just shuts the injector off.
