I was under the understanding that the only way to get some are to pry them out of the dead hands of the previous owner of them.

Joking aside I'm sure you can find them, but probably cannot just go out and buy a set. The pistons do not reach higher than the top of the liner, so its simple enough to make your own assuming your inserting the piston into the liner on the bench, then installing the piston/liner assembly into the engine. Or if your just looking to keep them held down in an existing engine strait brackets will also work fine for that. I've seen oversized washers used as well, but I preferred to have a full length bracket when I built my engine.

Hardest part was finding a set of short bolts the right size to hold them down with.

In case it helps, here is the FreeCAD file for liner clamps that I CNC cut out of a block of Delrin. Kind of overkill, but for me it was easier than cutting and drilling bar stock or plates. And Delrin is softer than aluminum, so there isn't any risk of scratching the block or liner surfaces.
