Gas Flap

Is there suppose to be some carpet on the underside of the gas flap itself? Anyone have a concourse quality gas flap hood they could take a picture of the underside of the gas flap?

Mine is painted black on the underside.

Underside of the gas flap is exposed to the elements (outside the trunk seal). Any carpet would have to be outdoor rated.

Mine isn't painted either, and my car for some reason had an extra gas flap in the glove compartment also not painted. But I must admit it looks a little unfinished, and needs something.

non gas flap cars have carpet in that space, which is why I thought I'd check. The carpet is nice there.

I take it there SHOULD be trim on the 3 exposed sides of the gas flap?

Yes, there should be. Mine still has the OEM trim around the flap but I have replaced the rest of the trim around the hood since I got it.
