I tried multiple times to contact this vendor a few years ago with no response. Maybe you will have better luck.

It's Simon's thread so he's got first dibs, but if he passes I'll make an offer.

+1

If they do work, how effective are they Patrick?

That is definitely not what I was expecting when I read "airscoop." I definitely expected air intake scoops for the engine. Speaking of which, anyone know anything about those? At some point I want to try to making some but are there any that are already readily available?

BTW, then that says, efficient from 30mph, does that mean they dont really bring air in until 30mph, or that it's not safe to use them after 30mph?

My gut feeling that they may come off, if held by suction cups.

They do work, but it still isn't the airflow of a full-size power window. Much better than nothing though! I don't think they could fall off, it is a secure fit to the window frame as well as the suction cups.

Thanks Patrick.

I'll let Dave make an offer on them. I'm going to pass, but I'm going to do some experimenting. :)

I made a set of air scoops for the drivers window out of sheet metal to survive a road trip to Vegas in July with no AC. They did help a little but I think the mirror cut down on the amount of air that can get in.
Also made a set of air scoops for engine air out of, you guessed it stainless steel. They're held on with one bolt and a tab that slides between the bumper and the body. Made a matching one for drivers side for looks and future intercooler for the turbo. Maybe Nick could post photos of them as well. Someone made a "ricer" comment, but the've been on my car so long that it would look funny without it.

P J Grady Europe make fibreglass intercooler air scoops for turbo/supercharged cars.

I sometimes stick my hand a little out the window and that causes plenty of fresh cool air to gush in the tiny opening... simple, works a treat, and I always have it with me :)

I'm just searching through the DCS photos from Gettysburg and Lexington. This is all I could come up with. Can you post some better photos?

I think it means that from 30mph they will give you proper cooling. But this vendor is from France, it may not be as effective in the desert of Las Vegas, you'll be cooked anyway without AC.
Send Domi an PM if he kan give this guy a call, he's French.

I made a set of window scoops from an old set of vent visors. Mine were a little smaller and made no difference. The mirrors blocked the airflow with mine. You can see them in my photo gallery.

A while back Grady told me about an owner that had something like this made for his car. But unfortunately this individual was an older gentleman and since passed on. He said they worked really well. I don't know if this has anything to do with that story or not. Can't imagine there was that many people making stuff like this.

I bent up some plastic with a heatgun and used a fence clamp with some suction cups so I could drive Red to the AC shop the first months I had her. It was better than death but it was not a substitute for AC. It looked horrible too. I keep it in the cubby behind the driver's seat just in case my AC dies. Any air is better than no air.

Originally 40 bucks a pair, now 150.00...talk about a return, and I wasted my money buying gold.

Anything with a DMC logo on it is worth at least $100, then the cost of the part on top.

Good luck with the sale! :)
