Has anyone had luck fixing loose bolsters from earlier VIN 2 part setup? Obviously new ones are not available.

We recover both sections and reassemble. It is rather expensive to do though. The other issue is that it deletes the speaker panel holes and requires running the rear carpet panel mounted speakers.

We repair most of them. If the inner plastic isn't shattered (pulled through is OK) and/or the vinyl is not torn, they are very repairable.

For the sake of originality and cost I'm going to try and repair it first. Other than the usual loose bolster its in perfect shape!

I was wondering if a glue could be used, rivet, screw etc.

The problem is removing the panel without destroying what is left of the probably already damaged vinyl.

I'll remove it tonight and see what I'm dealing with. Despite having removed 3 of these now to do speaker work, i've never taken a look at the backside of the bolster part because it's never been the focus of the job at hand. Kind of funny really. I've gotten fairly good at removing them with a heat gun and patience! I'll post a picture tomorrow.

I wish an enterprising vendor would endeavor to have these remade... They are hard to come by. My whole drivers side panel is missing.

Hey guys. I had luck with the repair.

It wasn't rocket science. I just removed the panel and saw that the screw holding that bolster tab was loose. I screwed it back in and used some epoxy to make sure it wouldn't come loose again!

I've done the same with mine.
I removed the bolster, repaired some of the cracked plastic on the panel and secured them..... better than ever!
