I think he was just on his way to the store and got caught up in a hot-rod show :)

Thats my friend Ken. He lives in Visalia CA. He bought his car from the same guy I got my car from. Its a really nice example of a painted car.

Interesting, I don't think I've seen a painted car with the wide side stripe before.

Thanks for clearing that up. I like how the red and black are carried into the interior design.

Interesting, I don't think I've seen a painted car with the wide side stripe before.I was thinking the same thing. I don't think I've seen a painted DeLorean with a gas flap hood either. Usually it's the later flat hoods that got painted. Interesting indeed.

Awesome looking red Delorean. I like the stance too.

This one is really nice, I really like the air scoop in the back, just like the twin turbo :)

There are several videos of this red Delorean on You Tube somewhere. Just type red Delorean in the search engine on You Tube and there should be one of the car going down the CA freeway.

Mine had the wide strips too when I first got it (obvioysly the car is back to stock silver now)

Interestingly when they painted the car, they didn't paint the logo so it was still stainless.

15458So the stripes went on first, then the paint? Huh, I would've thought it would be the other way around.

Your VIN should be too early to have sat on a dealer's lot after DMC"s collapse. By any chance, was there body damage that was covered up by the paint? Perhaps the D in the first post was painted for similar reasons.

Yea, it was painted due to body damage. When I stripped the paint, I discovered I needed new doors. I replaced my rear panels for good measure as there were some general dents there too. They just taped off the stripes.
