I have $10,000.00 set aside for any of you gamblers, I bet $10,000.00 to any takers, my bet is that this world is not going to end by 12-21-2012, not even by 12-31-2012.

What would a true believer gain from this bet? In their mind winning the bet would mean they would get your $10k after everything went up in flames. If anyone survived your money would be worthless.

How many people do you suppose actually bought into it? I'm guessing the numbers are in the hundreds, but maybe I'm giving humanity too much credit.
