I want to replace the two heater hoses that hook up to the hot water valve and the water return pipe. It looks like the hoses go behind a panel on the passenger rear and I can't seem to figure out how to get to them. Anyone have a recommendation for how to swap these two hoses out?

Remove the rear right wheel with car on jack stands. It takes a lot of effort but you have to unclasp the hoses from the hard lines just above the trailing arm dust shield. Then you unclasp them from the engine side on the back of the valley and from the water valve. Pull the hoses through the access hole.

Cool thanks Dave. I am tackling the VOD so everything is out hopefully making this a bit easier!

It is highly recommended to take a razor to the old hose and carefully slit the end for rubber removal. Most likely there is heavy oxidation and if you try shoving a screw driver in to break it free you can damage the heater liner.
