Replacing all coolant hoses and ran into something

Ordered a radiator and full hose set from DMC Houston. Install was going fine until I got to the pipe on the passenger side that connects to the long tube in the middle of the car (main water rail). The hose included in the kit does not seem to fit the pipe referred to as the "oil cooler pipe". That pipe seems to be bigger than the main water rail. The hose included in the kit is labeled "intermediate hose" pn# 105994. If you look at the part #43 in the parts diagram 1-3-1 it looks like the hose is supposed to be smaller on the main water rail pipe and bigger on the oil cooler pipe. Anyone have any idea where I can get the correct hose for both ends of this pipe?

Two options: heat up the hose you currently have and work it over the larger trans cooler. Or purchase a section of silicone hose that easily transitions between the two sizes. The smaller pipe section is 1 1/4 the cooler is 1 3/8. Not much of a difference but a lot of flex for marine hose. We stock the silicone sections.

Another option, cut up a new pipe to replace the OEM one. That is what I did since I was installing a full set of new pipes. Just used and old pipe with the bends as needed.

Yup, that's your automatic transmission oil cooler. When I installed that hose, I heated one end of the hose in a small pot of boiling water for a few minutes. I then carefully brought the pot into the garage, and quickly transferred it to the cooler. After using some force, and some twisting, it's on.

While my preference is to find the correct size dual ID 1.25 x 1.38 transition hose (rubber or silicon).

Another option that I've done when needing to create non standard transitions, is to go to your local AP store. Tell the guy at the counter you are trying to make a short transition coupler in those sizes stated. Ask if they have any dual ID moulded hoses in those sizes that you might be able to cut the suitable length from. Usually the Larger end will just be a couple inches long but you need a couple inches of the smaller size leading into it straight as possible. The down side is they typically only stock (ONE) of any hose, but can restock overnight if you need 2 hoses to sacrifice.

A trick that works for me is to get the cooler and the hose wet with anti-freeze and muscle the hose on. A hose of the correct sizes would be a more elegant solution.

Lol, that's alright with me hehe. I ended up taking a heat gun to it and was able to muscle it on. If it leaks I will go silicone. Thanks for all the info!
