A Break In The Winter Blues

Ok all fellow snow-belters, what have you been doing to scratch the DeLorean itch this winter? My list reads:

-Changed exhaust manifold gaskets
-Regrained stainless
-Replaced coolant hoses around water pump
-Struggling with DMCH light switch :banghead:

Still to do:
-Paint urethane bumpers
-paint louvres
-paint engine cover
-possibly repaint trunk
-replace front springs (taking to the shop)

Its 50 degrees outside right now and it's very tempting to go out for a ride... Does anyone else cheat the winter and make the occasional run?

It's 32° F over here in The Netherlands.
Nevertheless as long as there's no snow or ice on the road, I keep m D in training :)
No cheating necessary.

Hey that's fantastic to hear! I'm glad someone else doesn't think the D can only be driven on warm, sunny days. I'm in New York state and it's very mild again today so I think I will be going out for a drive :)

No snow here in West Michigan sofar, so the snow mobile is staying in the garage, and the D is on the road. At least till the weather changes!

Once I put the car away for the winter I remove the gas and the battery so it isn't worth getting it out for 1 nice day. This winter my main project is to replace the head gaskets. I am losing coolant externally on the right head. With the heads off I will probably port, polish, and gasket match, CC each combustion chamber and lap the valves in. Basically "Blueprint" the top of the motor. I doubt it will make much difference but it won't cost much since I will be doing all of the labor. Waiting for all of the parts right now but soon I will start dismantling.

Hey Kerichbe, have they salted the roads up by you? That was always the torture for me during WI winters, we'd have a really nice day, but the road would still be white from all the salt residue. Always had to wait until spring for a good hard rain to clear everything... Probably the number one thing I hate about winter.

Nope no salt. All we have had is a dusting of snow, and then rain, rain, rain!!

There was a heavy snowfall here the week of Christmas then cold without snow, rain, followed by rain and mild weather yesterday and today. I was only going to take the car for a short drive but I ended up going 120 miles. :burnout: Definently a satisfying day
