DeLorean with 69 original miles on it!!!!

Check this out. Sorry there's no pics. I stopped by PJ Grady's last week for a few odds and ends. While there I noticed a really clean Delo there that Rob was working on. When i asked him about it he said look at the odometer. It had 69 miles on it. When I asked if it was legit he said yes. I didn't get the VIN but it's a grooved hood NOV 81 build 5 speed grey interior with the wide side stripe.

The owner who has had it since new has stored it for all these years and never drove it. He is gettting on in his years now and wants to cash in on this car. He is having Rob do all the recall work and get the car running again with the idea that it would go out to Barret Jackson in Arizona next year. I was curious what everyone's thoughts would be on a sale price for something like this. I'm thinking $50,000. plus.

DMC Florida has 2 such cars for sale... one with 77 miles, one with 35. You can always call them up and ask them how much they want for their cars. My guess is easily in the $60s and maybe even $70s... they price their cars very proudly. I suppose rightfully so, too... they only seem to sell the very best DeLoreans in existence. What the cars are actually worth though is another question. I can't honestly give an accurate answer... DeLorean values have been so unstable the past 5-10 years. They currently seem to be crashing back to earth after a rather unrealistic high.

Very cool! I miss living 30 minutes from one of, if not the most Knowledgable Delorean people in the world. He always had some cool Deloreans at his shop.

I'm going to take a guess at this and say $55,000 to $60,000. Rob will have the car perfect for the auction so it should bring top dollar. I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

If anyone else goes out there, get the vin# so we can verify.

At least. My dad was at Barrett Jackson today and said the deloreans there actually had a dent or two. He took some pics.

We all know bj prices are a little inflated but my guess would be at least 50k.

Very subjective. People derive pleasure from cars in different ways, and while it may be lost on some, collecting is very pleasurable for others. Of course you are overlooking the fact there is no law saying the future owner can't rack up 30k miles a year, sure the low mileage value the car had would be lost, but that may not matter to someone who drops 60k
On a DeLorean either.

Don't get bent out of share if someone has a different idea of how to enjoy their car, just accept that their methods make THEM happy and that's al that matters.

being an original car and if its concours, should go over 60k. i knew a guy who had a D in the 2k mile range that had slightly rusty axles go for a hair under 50k at barrett jackson.

If you are a seller, there are maybe 1,500 road worthy cars left and values can reach 60 or even 70k for a mint condition example.

If you are a buyer, then there were well over 9,000 made, and well over 6,500 left, all very nice low mileage examples were getting as much as 25k at one time, but now in this economy the values are in the mid teens, maybe high teens for a Concours example.
