Any slot car race track fans out there?
The kind that had come to mind originally you can see in the Rhett and Link video "In the 80s"

It is at about 1:18. If I'm not mistaken it is the Tyco Super Duper Cliffhanger, but that is partly a guess.
I think it would be neat to get one of these that is still working well. Heck, I didn't actually realize you can still buy new versions of this sort of thing.
The idea to get one of these came from something else I was dreaming up. And that was to go a different direction for next season's car shows.
I thought maybe instead of displaying a bunch of Back to the Future stuff all the time, like the Flux Capacitor, OUTATIME plate, magazine covers like the Sports Almanac or Ooh La La, I would just do the day to day 80s stuff. In fact, you can see a lot of it in Rhett and Link's video.
I recently got my hands on an old bag cell phone that my parent's forgot was in a box in the basement. I have a Rubix cube. Also an old Merlin game. Plenty of old 5.25" floppy disks or VHS tapes for that matter. And definitely no shortage of mixed cassette tapes and walkman players.
I'm going to see what else I can come up with. I'm not sure if my idea on the slot car race track would work, because what I want to do is set one up in the trunk of the car. Or maybe even on the hood. I'd have to get one that fits of course and I think I could run it from the power coming out of the booster pack I have coupled with a power convertor to give me the regular household 120 v outlet. Not sure I want little metal toy cars flying off the track onto the stainless, so that's why I was thinking to find a track that would only be as big as the bonnet carpet board or less.
I think lots of us could come up with some pretty hilarious things to put on display in the passenger seat or parcel shelf just by going through boxes in the basement. And you wouldn't have to worry about it being screen accurate, i.e. rare/expensive because anything from the 80s will do.
