Alternative rear jack location

Ok, I have my car on jack-stands according to the recognized method.

I decided I also want to POR-15 and paint the rear cradle to freshen it up.

The 2x4 and jackstands are blocking this. I have additional stands, can I use another location to keep the rear up?

I do see jack points on the fiberglass underbody.

Can you use use wheel ramps instead. Those should give you good access, unless you need the wheels off. Otherwise I don't see why you can put jack stands near the jack points.

Thanks Chris.. but I have the wheels off. I'm changing all the bushings and powder coating the rear links.

When I was rehabbing my engine bay I kept my car on jack stands at the jacking points front and rear of the doors on the fiberglass tub. Make sure you use a wood block to protfct the tub.

Cool thanks! I have 2x4x12 that would work for that. I can't wait to pretty up the cradle. It's quite visible from behind.

Many times when doing work under my D, I'd put a 2X6 under the car running from corner across to corner and then put jack stands under that.

fwiw, i;ve had terrible luck with por-15 as far as their rust paint goes and yes, proper prep; I'd recommend KBS, I've used both KBS & POR products on frames and to this day KBS is still standing up while por has pealed off....

Thanks Dani, that's a good idea. So basically you ran the 2x6 from jack point to jack point (ie read to rear, front to front) perpendicular to the frame.
