View Full Version : Ah, winter. When your careful driving means nothing...

Dropped daughter off at Girl Guides. Was on the way to fave sledding hill with son. At a light, we started ahead, realizing the vehicle across from us was turning left...right now!

ABS activated in the snow, and there was a car beside me, and we wound up hitting corners. He didn't get out of the way in time. We spun around, and both of us wound up on the road he was turning onto. At least we didn't block traffic?

I've been a fully licenced driver since March 1, 1991. Speeding tickets? Yeah. Never had a collision before. Until now.

I'm not immensely thrilled. The airbags didn't deploy, and the attending officer issued no tickets citing conditions. I drove it home, and will continue to until whatever body shop I go through has parts ready....it's still too early for that stage.

Some people drive in the winter like nothing has changed. I'm glad you and your son are okay.
